There is a specter haunting the Western world and it is the specter of Palestine.

What happened on October 7, 2023 changed the world and forced the truth.

Al-Aqsa Flood marked a turning point in the battle for Palestinian self-determination. It was an act of resistance in the face of a long-standing, slow-motion genocide enacted by the fascist state of Israel against the people of Palestine.

It exposed the powers that represent themselves as impenetrable as in fact vulnerable to resistance and the power of the people.

It showed that Israel’s security apparatus, exported and sold all over the world, is deeply flawed, and that the power of those involved and invested in the repression industry to which it is central are also not infallible.

It broke through the narrative of the Zionist entity, a colonial outpost built on the mass displacement, ethnic cleansing and murder of the Palestinian people, as a safe haven for Jews.

The brutality of the accelerated genocide in the three years following the Flood has made clear the stakes of threatening power and the measures our enemies are willing to take to maintain it. They are preparing us for the systematic elimination of resistance to their authoritarian violence and greed wherever and whenever they choose.

From uprisings against deportation and cuts to education, healthcare and affordable housing, to the fight against the expansion of data centers and AI, to the urgent demands of environmental justice, anti-militarism and trans liberation, all of our movements have shown up for Palestine because each recognizes its own stake in what is being attacked.

Palestine stands at the beating heart of the struggle for liberation in our time. We can only conclude that the task ahead of us is to collectively build on the mass movement it has galvanized, and renew our commitment to the end of the genocide, the defeat of Zionism and the total liberation of Palestine.

The stakes are clear. The lines being drawn are between fascism and survival.

“All that is solid melts into air, all that is holy is profaned, and [hu]man[ity] is at last compelled to face with sober senses [our] real conditions of life, and [our] relations with [our] kind.”
